The Shimano 26 Lunamis is a premium JDM shore-casting rod designed for long-range sea bass fishing. Exceptionally light and sharp in the hand, it delivers accurate casts, precise lure control and dependable power when fighting fish.

Nine carefully tuned models cover technical finesse fishing, versatile lure work and powerful applications in rivers, harbours, surf, rocky shores and other saltwater environments. Shimano recommends pairing it with an Exsence, Sustain or TwinPower XD reel, PE braid and an Ocea FC leader.

Technology

Spiral X Core: Shimano's advanced carbon construction, combining Spiral X carbon tape with Toray Nanoalloy® technology. It provides up to 10% more torsional rigidity and up to 15% more compressional rigidity than Spiral X.

Hi-Power X: Diagonally wrapped carbon tape reduces blank twist for a crisp, stable cast, precise lure control and improved fighting performance.

Carbon Monocoque: The hollow carbon grip reduces weight and transfers vibration directly to the hand. Shimano states sensitivity is increased by 30% versus traditional rod handles. The edge shape improves casting grip and stability.

X-Guide: Lightweight 3D-moulded guides reduce line tangles and improve casting. L–ML models use downsized X-Guide Aero for fine PE; M models use X-Guide Aero for PE 0.8–2; selected longer M and MH models use Touch Free Titanium for PE 2 and above.

CI4+ and Perfection Seat XT: A light, rigid carbon-reinforced reel-seat material and step-free ergonomic design help maintain balance, comfort and power.

• 90L: 5–21 g lures, 112 g — light technical fishing.
• 76ML to 96ML: 6–25 g lures, 99–120 g — finesse and versatile sea bass work.
• 76M to 96M: 7–35 g lures, 106–130 g — all-round lure fishing and longer casts.
• 96MH: 10–45 g lures, 148 g — larger lures, heavy water and rough surf.

The LUNAMIS combines lightness, sensitivity and resilience in a responsive rod that feels precise throughout the cast. Use the shorter models for close- to mid-range fishing in rivers and harbours, or choose a longer M/MH model for distance from breakwaters, rocky shores and surf.

All models are two-piece rods with an uplock reel seat. Reel-seat positions range from 348 to 408 mm, while carbon content is 98.8–99.1%. Lure ratings span 5–45 g, with maximum jig ratings from 25–56 g.
